Participants can come to a local library to spend time reading silently after a local ‘celebrity’ reads aloud for 5 to 10 minutes to kick off each hour, or they can register and then read at another location. Collecting pledges for reading time or making a donation to support literacy are encouraged, but not required. Community readers at the Watertown library include Karla Mullen of the Wisconsin Humanities Council and public health nurse Janet Tubito.
